Pine Bluff police Lt. Bob Rawlinson recently completed a law enforcement leadership course conducted by the Criminal Justice Institute, a division of the University of Arkansas system. Called the Arkansas Leader program, the course has been designated as a command college by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is one of only 16 programs throughout the country to have received than designation. Food Safety Consortium researchers at the University of Arkansas System s Division of Agriculture found that they could greatly reduce E. coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella Typhimurium in the chicken breast meat by infusing combinations of organic acids acetic, citric, lactic, malic and tartaric into the meat. The experiments were also performed with extracts from green tea and grape seeds in combination with the acids. (Science Daily)

Rahn is one of four finalists to fill a similar post with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the University of Arkansas System announced Tuesday ...
