Amesbury man re-elected to statewide union post May 8, 2008
Allred, a graduate from Salem State College with a Master s from Lesley University, began teaching in 1973 as a social studies teacher at Amesbury Middle School. In 1993 he transferred to Amesbury High School where he taught until his retirement in 2007. (Amesbury News, MA)

The Tanners 3-2 overtime loss to No. 2-seeded Wakefield was a heartbreaking end for a team that had battled for so long, a team that wasn t even supposed to have advanced to the Division 1 state semifinal at Salem State College s O Keefe Center on Thursday evening. Yet they did, and by the looks on the faces of the girls as they walked off the ice following the overtime defeat, the Tanners clearly had entered the contest with every intention of winning. The Arlington High girls hockey team stayed with St. Mary s for one period, but the top-seeded team in the Div. 1 state tournament eventually found its stride and cruised to a 7-1 victory over the Spy Ponders on Thursday night at Salem State College. The game was scoreless until sophomore Erin McAndrews picked up an Arlington turnover and skated in alone on AHS goalie Kimberly Hayward, beating her between the pads with only 41 seconds left in the period. In her position as Director of Social Work, Levesque will be overseeing a team of social workers who provide day-to-day support the residents and their families of the MI Nursing/Restorative Center. Although Louise Spiess actually began her own nursing education in 1937 at Ohio University and, later, at Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, raising a family intervened, and Louise didn t realize her full dream until 1976, when she received her bachelor s degree in nursing from Salem State College at the age of 56.
