The Piedmont College Cafe, located in Piedmont College's Athens campus at 595 Prince Ave., will donate a portion of the proceeds from lunch sales Thursday to St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. The Royston-Franklin Springs Pilot Club is accepting entries until Nov. 20 for a Holiday Beauty Pageant it will host Dec. 5 in the Telford Center for the Fine and Performing Arts at Franklin County High School, Carnesville. The Piedmont College Cafe, located in Piedmont College's Athens campus at 595 Prince Ave., will donate a portion of the proceeds from lunch sales Thursday to St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. Under the "Percentage Day" event, 10 percent of receipts for meals sold between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. are donated to the auxiliary if the meal receipt is placed in a designated ticket holder at the cashier station. Green, who lived in Rabun Gap, died Aug. 18 at age 76 after a battle with cancer. His funeral expenses were paid for from donations and from a 2007 barbecue fund-raiser.
