    Brookline college host to a survivors tale  Sep 21, 2008
    Holocaust survivor and author Hersch Altman will come to Newbury College, 129 Fisher Ave., on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 12:30 p.m., to speak about his experiences and survival through a lecture, A Survivor s Reflections.     Abukasis, an academic counselor at Newbury College, and Hoarty, a physical education teacher at the McGlynn Middle School, run the program, along with a staff of 32, which include Counselors in Training (CITs), all former campers entering their freshmen year of high school; senior counselors, a group of college students; and specialists, including lifeguards and water safety instructors.     David Hildebrandt, the former Newbury College volleyball coach who was to start coaching at Elms College next Friday, drowned Sunday near Albany, N.H., after he fell into the Swift River ... That summer, Mr. Hildebrandt began coaching the men's and women's volleyball teams at Newbury College, where he served as head coach for seven years ...
