"I agree, fb. Unfortunately, Service learning, as it's commonly called, has failed to catch on in this area as it has in other places. The only school in the area that makes it mandatory in this area is Sullivan. I believe some other area schools offer it as an elective. Some colleges are now requiring applicants to include a "community service" resume along with their transcripts when applying. I believe Millikin University in Decatur started that a few years ago.
