    Miss. native premiers film on hunger  Nov 13, 2009
    Mississippi native Donald Simmons Jr., now a dean at Dakota Wesleyan University, will lecture and premier the documentary film "Hungry for Green: Feeding the World Sustainably" on Friday at Harvard Medical School's Center for Health and the Global Environment in Boston. Simmons, 45, is dean and director of the McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service at the Mitchell, S.D., university which produced the film. (The Clarion-Ledger)

    College Golf: Tigers' Bellet named GPAC golfer of week  Oct 15, 2009
    For the second time in three weeks, Dakota Wesleyan University sophomore Dani Bellet has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women s Golfer-of-the-Week. This time, Bellet earned the conference s weekly honor for her performance at the second GPAC Qualifier Meet of the 2009-10 season. (Rapid City Journal, SD)

(AP) -- The fall semester enrollment at Dakota Wesleyan University is 777 students -- only 11 fewer than the school's all-time high reached two years ago. DWU Provost and Executive Vice President Amy Novak says the school's faculty and staff deserve credit for their dedication to attracting new students and retaining current ones.
