Harrington Jr. of Marlborough and Charlotte Harrington of Wellesley, he was a graduate of Rhode Island's Bryant College, where he served as president of his fraternity and helped the group become a leader in charitable giving. He was a vice president at Wellington Management in Boston, where he was known as a mentor to his colleagues, and an active supporter of the Human Rights Campaign and MassEquity.
