The Lady Rangers improved to 2-0 on the year with a 55-50 win over host Baker University in the Classic s opener on Friday, Nov. 6. The following afternoon, the Lady Rangers suffered their first loss of the season a decisive 27-point, 67-40 defeat at the hands of William Jewel College to drop to 2-1 on the year. As I write this column, I don t know how the Lady Rangers are doing up at the Baker University tournament in Kansas, but I can tell you that Coach Barton has a bunch of scrappers in the fold this year. Nine of them are incoming freshmen and all of them that played against Langston Tuesday up at the Northwestern field house gave it all they had and, as it turned out, it was enough.
